Building trusted financial infrastructure requires more than efficient payment rails: it requires a robust compliance framework from day one.

In line with this positioning, Unblock has integrated Chainalysis, a leading blockchain intelligence platform, to strengthen our transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics and risk management capabilities.

The integration enhances our ability to identify risk indicators, assess blockchain exposure and support risk-based decision making through greater visibility into on-chain activity.

The move reinforces our commitment to delivering secure, transparent and institutional-grade payment infrastructure.

How Chainalysis works

Chainalysis provides blockchain intelligence tools that help financial institutions analyze blockchain activity, identify risk indicators and support compliance and investigative workflows through advanced blockchain analytics.

Compliance and risk teams interact with the Chainalysis platform through a structured workflow:

  • Data aggregation: Chainalysis collects on-chain activity across supported blockchain networks, transforming raw transaction data into structured information that supports compliance, risk management and investigations.

  • Entity attribution: Clustering algorithms identify relationships between blockchain addresses and attribute them to known entities and services, such as exchanges, sanctioned entities, darknet markets, scams and mixers.

  • Risk assessment: Wallets and transactions are assessed based on their direct and indirect exposure to risk indicators associated with different categories. These insights help institutions apply their own risk-based policies, internal controls and compliance procedures.

  • Transaction tracing and investigation: Compliance teams can trace the movement of funds across blockchain networks, analyze counterparties and exposure paths, and review the broader context surrounding transactions that require additional due diligence.

  • Continuous monitoring and alerts: Real-time monitoring identifies transactions or behavioral patterns that meet predefined risk criteria, generating alerts for review by qualified compliance analysts. Outcomes from these reviews can be incorporated into ongoing improvements of internal monitoring rules and controls.

Together, these capabilities transform raw blockchain data into actionable intelligence, enabling compliance teams to assess risk more effectively across multiple blockchain networks and large transaction volumes.

How Unblock uses Chainalysis

At Unblock, Chainalysis supports our Know Your Transaction (KYT) controls and wallet screening processes by helping identify wallet addresses and transactions that may present elevated risk.

When a wallet or transaction crosses a threshold, a compliance analyst investigates the origin of funds, the purpose, the counterparties and the broader pattern. Based on that assessment, the transaction can be cleared, blocked or escalated for reporting to the competent authorities.

"Partnering with Chainalysis directly strengthens our on-chain analysis and risk management. With KYT and wallet screening integrated into our compliance workflow, we can assess exposure, trace the origin of funds and act with greater precision on suspicious activity. For us, this reinforces a commitment that goes beyond regulatory requirement: protecting our partners and preserving the integrity of the operations we intermediate." – Nicole Meneghetti, Partner and Head of Compliance.
